The Knight who took off his armor
Once upon a time there was a young knight named Elian, who lived in a kingdom where everyone thought courage was made of muscles, swords, and shining armor. Elian wore his gleaming armor every day, made from the strongest metals in the kingdom, and walked proudly through the streets. But no one knew that beneath that armor, Elian hid a great fear: that of not being enough.
He was afraid to make mistakes, to show his emotions, to say that sometimes he was lonely.
“A knight does not cry,” everyone said.
“A knight is not afraid,” they repeated.
And so Elian continued to wear his armor -- even when no one was looking.
One night, however, Elian had a strange dream: he stood at the foot of a mysterious mountain, and a gentle voice whispered to him, “To find your true strength, you will have to leave behind what weighs you down.”
When he woke up, his heart was pounding. He then decided to set out for that mountain, following the voice of the dream. He walked for days, the armor covering him becoming heavier by the hour. Until, tired and confused, he stopped under a stone tree.
There, sitting on a rock, was Sem. Her eyes shone like the moon.
“Welcome, Knight,” she said softly. “The weight you feel does not come from the armor. It comes from what you don't let out.”
Elian lowered his gaze. “But I-I must be strong.”
Sem then handed him a simple bracelet, woven with golden threads and natural stones.
“This is a Dragon Bracelet. It is not a weapon, nor a shield. It is a reminder: that your greatest strength comes when you have the courage to be true.”
At that moment, a great roar went through the sky. The Guardian Dragon descended through the clouds and looked at Elian with eyes full of wisdom.
“You, Knight, have done the most difficult deed of all: you have listened to your heart.”
Elian then did something no knight had ever done: he took off his armor, piece by piece.
And underneath ... there was only him: a boy with a huge heart, full of emotions, dreams and questions.
From that day, Elian returned to his different realm. He spoke softly, helped with respect, and wore the bracelet on his wrist, a symbol of his new courage.
And soon, other little boys and girls began to understand that courage is not about not being afraid -- but choosing every day to be themselves.
Moral of the fairy tale: True strength lies not in the armor we wear, but in the heart we have the courage to show. Even a knight can cry, dream -- and fly, with his inner Dragon.
